On the 23rd, KMI Seoul Korea Medical Research Institute(KMI), and the Korean Volunteer Association, presented the signboard of Angel Hospital to Apgujeong Ophthalmology Clinic. Apgujeong Ophthalmology Clinic is the leading organization in the medical support project for reclusive patients. Reclusive patients are those who live reclusive life due to an unintentional accident or congenital physical appearance condition.
Apgujeong Ophthalmology Clinic, will strengthen its activities as an ‘Angel Hospital’. The hospital is aiming to sponsor a medical institution for the medical support project for reclusive patients.
Apgujeong Ophthalmology Clinic's Representative Director, Goh Byeongwoo,expressed his determination, stating, 'I will collaborate with other Angel Hospitals to gather strength, ensuring the sincerity and positive impact of the medical support project for reclusive patients spread across our society as a whole.'
The medical support project for reclusive patients, launched in December 2017, is a purely private sectordriven social contribution initiative. It identifies patients who are in seclusion due to physical reasons such as disfigurement, deformities, severe obesity, etc. The project provides full financial support for medical expenses and assistance until their reintroduction into society.
With the participation of Apgujeong Ophthalmology Clinic, ‘Angel Hospitals’ participating in the medical support project for reclusive patients are now total eight. These hospitals include 365mc Hospital, Dream Plastic Surgery Clinic, Banobagi Plastic Surgery Clinic, Seoul Top Dental Hospital, Han River Hospital, ID Hospital, and Good Life Dental Hospital. Additionally, as the first company under the Angel Corporation, implant manufacturing company MegaGen Implant has also joined the initiative.
